The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

The Worse Sin

While I have been out of town  and was not able to respond to some messages posted in Shattered Men,  I notice there had been several post on the worst sinwith a question of what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is.

First, I assure you that if anyone is concerned about his or her having
had blasphemed the Holy Spirit they did NOT do so. You see, if one
were to have committed the unpardonable sin, they would not care if they
had or not for they have rejected all of the prompting of the Lord.

What then is this unpardonable sin? Scripture tells us that if we
reject Jesus Christ, there is no salvation because the only way to have
eternal life is through Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.

We know that sin can not be forgiven unless we come to God to ask
forgiveness You seem it is not enough to know the facts about Jesus,
that He died to pay for our sin if we do not apply that payment to our
account. It would be like having a debt due and leaving the money on
your desk instead of paying the bill. You had the money but it was not
applied to the account.

In Matt 12:31,32 we read:

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be
forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not
be forgiven unto men

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be
forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall
not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to
come.

Notice this says who so ever speaks against the Son of man, (Jesus)
will be forgiven but not if they speak against the Holy Spirit.

To keep this in context we need to keep in mind who Jesus was talking
to and under what conditions. HE was talking to the Pharisees who had
just made this statement in verse 24:

"This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of
the devils."

There is strong reason to believe that by this time, these religious
leaders knew who Jesus was. They had seen Jesus do things that no
mortal man could do. They knew the prophesy of the prophets such as
Isaiah yet they told the people that Jesus was well, a demon in all
practical terms. The key point is that they KNEW what they were doing.

I have talked to many that for all practical purposes could have
committed this unpardonable sin, but they are now serving the LORD. Why?

Look at 1 Tim: 13 where Paul had just declared in the previous verse:

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he
counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I
obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Once again, if you are worried that you have committed the unpardonable
sin...YOU DID NOT!!!!

Let's look at another often overlooked part of this scripture and
instead of focusing on the unpardonable sin, lets focus on what is said
just before that. "All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven
unto men"

My friend, no matter how bad, how evil, how rotten you have been, your
sin CAN be forgiven. Paul states he was forgiven of blasphemy because
he did it without knowing what he was doing. Many are deceived into
thinking that they are doing God a service by persecuting Christians but
they can be forgiven. (John 16:2) Some have murdered Christians and
have accepted Christ later.

Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though
your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be
red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Heb 9:27 tells us that we have only one life and after this we face the
judgment. I believe that if one has rejected the prompting of the
Holy Spirit and have refused to trust Jesus Christ for payment for
their sin, they have blasphemed the Holy Spirit by doing so. Yet we do
know of some in which the Holy Spirit has been patient and has called
many times before they said Yes and accepted the LORD. Yet others have
had only one chance. We have no idea why some are called many times
while others have been called once. God knows the intent of the heart
but I do want to say this...DO NOT PUT IT OFF IF JESUS IS CALLING YOU!

We are told the Lord will not always strive with man, we can say no
once too many times and face an eternity apart from God. It is not
worth the risk my friend.

Come to Jesus today....He is waiting for YOU!
